The Breakfast Hutch

Well lovelies, it's the moment we've all been waiting for...me in particular!  We finished painting the hutch over the weekend and I am so pleased with the results!  I have to thank you all again for your input and insight during this process.  It was a lot of fun to take on a project like this!

And you'll be happy to finally know what color we chose...

Ta dah!

What do you think?  We ultimately chose black for several reasons.  For one...it ties in with the rest of our furniture...we have black side tables and dining room chairs, so it seemed to make most sense.  Also, it ties into our granite, which has flecks of black in it.  Last, it added a nice pop in the white corner...plus, it really makes our wedding dish stand out.  I heard a lot of your voices on gray...and ultimately found this awesome Spanish tile wall paper.  I love how it finishes the piece and adds some interest!

Here are some pictures of the progress we made over the weekend.

{We cut out the wall paper for each section...something that took some time and precision}

{The bottom part of the hutch was easier...we just popped out the panels and applied the paper}

 {We had to sand down some areas to smooth out the paint...part of the process, I suppose!}

{Love the gray and silvery pearl shine!}

Here's another reminder of the before & after:

I plan to finish decorating it and give you an update later this week..hopefully when the lighting is better too!  SO glad to finally have it finished!!
